Presentation of Short Films

The University in the Eyes of its Students

Keen to take into consideration students' perspectives on the state and future of higher education in the Arab region, the conference organizers have decided to include in the conference programme the presentation of short films produced by students. In this regard, a competition has been organized in order to select the ten best short films produced by higher education students in the Arab States.

UNESCO Beirut has formed a technical committee of specialists in the field entrusted with developing rules and regulations for the competition and with selecting the winners. Submitted films should range between a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes.

Some 40 student film proposals were submitted within the deadline.The first and second films will be awarded $3,000, $2,000, respectively; movies ranked from 3 to 10 will receive $1,000 each.
The selected films will be presented during the conference whether in the plenary sessions or in the thematic panel discussions dealing with student perspectives on higher education.
